Pre E3: SNK develops for the Wii
IGN reports that SNK, the guys behind the classic Metal Slug series, is developing a new title for Nintendo's next-gen console, Wii. The new Wii shooter is called Metal Slug Anthology, which is a collection of classic Metal Slug games. The good part about this game is that the collection won't be a straight up port; you'll be able to play with the Wii's revolutionary controller in the games.
Ben Herman, SNK Playmore USA Corporation President, had this to say:
"Fans worldwide have been looking forward to our return to Nintendo platforms and what better way then to bring our complete Metal Slug arcade collection to Wii. The Wii controller will be used in a new and unique way that enhances the gameplay. Our fans have demanded that we support Nintendo platforms. Let the celebration begin."
We'll hear more about this title at E3 next week. Since the SNES (I think), SNK is back developing on a Nintendo console!
