Pre E3: Cubed3 Interviews Tuna Technologies
Cubed3 has recently interviewed Tuna Technologies about what they thought about the Wii and more.
"C3: What are your thoughts on the Nintendo Wii? Such as its control system, Virtual Console and the cheap development kits? And do you have any plans to support the system in the future?
ANDY: Wii is still an unknown until they tell everyone more at E3. All the console manufacturers seem to be offering some kind of downloadable / Virtual Console features and we really look forward to developers (including ourselves) making the most of this and trying to develop new styles of games.
The Wii control should encourage new style of gameplay, and thatâs something weâd like to do at Tuna â something new and innovative.
ALEX: The best thing about Nintendo is that they understand that innovation is not all about an extra million polygons. Gameplay is what counts. The DS has some fabulously innovate ideas and games, and the Wii is likely to go the same way.
C3: Are you likely to continue supporting Nintendo in the future?
ANDY: Weâve worked on Game Boy (Colour and Advance) for a few years now, and we hope to carry on working on Nintendoâs machine.
ALEX: As long as we have a choice, weâll continue to support Nintendo. Theyâve given us some great feedback recently so hopefully weâll continue to keep them happy.
C3: How do you think Nintendo can fare against the strong competition of Sonyâs PS3 and Microsoftâs XBOX 360?
ANDY: Nintendo are going to do things on their own terms with Wii, so I donât think itâs a case of them competing with MS or Sony any more. Almost everything that comes out on that machine will be impossible to make on the others, so I think theyâll carve out their own market and do very well with it.
ALEX: Nintendo will compete based upon gameplay and with innovation. As Andy says, they arenât trying to compete on the same terms as MS or Sony, and perhaps they have made the best choice of all three major platform holders."
