More Revolution Speculation

*Remember this Speculation* This blog site is calling themselves as a small Nintendo Revolution that are working on the Super Smash Bros. for the Revolution with HAL, and they called the title Super Smash Bros: Fire. Nintendo has not released the official name for Super Smash Bros. title yet.

They also said that Nintendo’s Next-Gen console WILL be the most powerful console of all time, Downloadable 1st party games are FREE, The controllers will have an optional gyroscopic feature to them, The console will ship in the price range of $150-200 USD, There will be 50 games available at the launch of the Revolution, Super Smash Bros: Fire will ship with the Revolution as a BONUS, Revolution will ship later than Sony PS3, and the Revolution will ship sometime during November 2006.

Some of these speculation seems to be to true, because how can the Revolution be more powerful than Sony PS3? But some of Aries' speculations became true, so we will keep an eye on them if they are lying or not.

Famitsu's readers loves the Revolution

Famitsu put up a survey saying which next generation consoles impressed everyone the most, and Famitsu's readers chosen Nintendo's Revolution over Sony's PS3 and Xbox360. Revolution had 42.2%; PS3 had 39.8%; and the Xbox 360 got a pitiful 18%.

The readers was impressed with Revolution:
-That the console is very small than Nintendo's past consoles.

-The possibility to download every NES, SNES, and N64 games on the Revolution. (Even though most of the people here at North America don't think it's not very impressed with the idea)

-The Japanese readers are finally happy to see something different other than the other consoles. *see comment in parenthesis*

-They loved the Revolution being mysterious and remained quiet and secret other than the other consoles. *again see comment in parenthesis*

If you want to see what Famitsu's readers were interested about the Xbox360 and the PS3, than click here.

Lost in Blue impression and media

A sequel for one of the best gbc game ever : Lost in Blue.

*From IGN*
"Survival Kids was a semi-popular game released on the original Game Boy and Game Boy Color years ago. In it, players assumed the role of a castaway doing exactly what anyone who landed on a deserted island would do: survive. The series will be reimagined on the Nintendo DS with its new title: Lost in Blue. The concept's still the same, but it's much more realized on the creative dual-screen handheld. Konami will have it in its booth at the Electronic Entertainment Expo, and we had the opportunity to give it a test-drive early.

The version at the show is a limited demonstration to show some of the ideas that will be cooking up in the final version later this year. In the E3 edition, players are mysteriously washed ashore of a deserted island after a cinematic introduction that shows the player's fate in still screen portraits. There's really no lead-in for the player other than simply taking control of the on-screen character and figure out where he is.

In the demo, players can gather coconuts for water, pick up berries and mushrooms for food, and sticks and twigs to create a fire. Coconuts aren't always sitting around the beach; players will have to work for these treats by shaking the trees and knocking them loose. This is done by using the touch screen -- when players face a tree, they can jump to a first person perspective and use the stylus (or finger) on the touch screen to give the thick trunk a shake. The touch screen also comes into play when digging for shells on the beach or uprooting vegetables for sustenance.

The task in the E3 demo is to discover your home for your adventure: a conveniently placed cave that seems ready for your life. In the cave you'll have to start a fire to dry off your wet clothes. This is the first real "mini-game" of the demo: you'll need to find a stick and some bark to create the necessary fire making tool. Then, by using the L and R buttons in succession, you'll roll the stick in the bark to create enough friction for a necessary spark. By blowing into the microphone, you'll get the air flow going and, hopefully, build up the flame needed for your campfire. After a good night's sleep, you can explore a second portion of the island after crossing a calmed river, where you'll encounter a female castaway. While helping her retrieve her glasses, you'll accidentally crush them underfoot, leaving you to the task of helping the blinded lass back to the cave. Thus endeth the demo.

Within the demo are two mini-games: a goat milking challenge that, even after 17 thousand tries, I couldn't win; by pulling down on the goat's teats, you squirt milk into a bucket. When the bucket's full, you win. Players pull on the teat with the touch screen, and if the goat doesn't like your touch, he'll kick you in the teeth. 17 thousand attempts and my teeth got kicked in every single time. There's also a cooking demo where players put a bunch of ingredients in a pot -- by writing specific symbols on the touch screen, you throw the ingredients in. To simmer the pot, it's a matter of closing the DS and counting to the specified amount of seconds. Get everything right and your meal may be salvaged."

Amazing, isn't it ?

A new Mario & Luigi game for the DS?!

It appears that the popular GBA title Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga will be having a successor on the Nintendo DS. By the looks of it, both Baby Mario and Baby Luigi will be joining in! Stay tuned for more news on this subject.

You can find screenshots of this game in a plentiful post below.

E3 ends, Metroid Pinball. DS Rumble Pack seen?

Metroid Pinball. At first looking to be a sad direction for the Metroid Series, Metroid Pinball is shaping up to surpass people's expectations. The entire concept of using Samus as a pinball works well, but still, it's pinball and this is the Metroid franchise we are talking about

Speculate as you may, this is not my point. Metroid Pinball has included rumble on on the e3 showfloor. Using the GBA slot, it provides a strong rumble similar to the Nintendo 64, although whether this drains the DS battery (and how), we do not know yet.

"One major surprise is that some copies of Metroid Prime Pinball on the show floor featured rumble capability. Yes, rumble as in force feedback like Pokemon Pinball. This obviously couldn't be built into the tiny DS packs, so I had a look underneath the DS playing the game and it had a GBA cartridge plugged in as well. I figured that the GBA cartridge was the one doing the rumbling, and this was later confirmed by PGC chum Chris Kohler. Apparently Chris saw someone booting up a DS with Metroid Prime Pinball in it, and the initial selection screen said that there was a "GBA Option Pak" in the GBA cartridge slot. I'm not sure whether or not Nintendo will sell this standalone Rumble Pak for use with rumble-enabled games, but it definitely exists. Hopefully it will be a pack-in when Metroid Prime Pinball is released, because it works like a charm."

More when it becomes available. E3 ended today.

Animal Crossing bound for the Revolution

The Animal Crossing franchise seems to everywhere as it was on the N64 and GCN, and Animal Crossing coming to the Nintendo DS, and now Animal Crossing maybe bound for the Revolution. IGN asked Animal Crossing producer, Katsuya Eguchi, if Animal Crossing will have connectivity for the Nintendo DS and the un-announced Revolution title like it was with the Gamecube and the GBA versions, and Euchi explains:

"The reason why we created the Animal Island was to give something for people to take with them on the Game Boy Advance and maybe with the DS we'll do something similar between the DS and Revolution."

It could be a smart move for Nintendo to use the connectivity with the Nintendo DS and the Revolution. Stay tuned.

Interview with Miyamoto

IGN was lucky enough to get an interview with the creator of Mario and legendary Nintendo designer, Shigeru Miyamoto. In the interview, Miyamoto might be considering making a Kid Icarus title for the Revolution as Miyamoto is closely working with the original producer of the game. Miyamoto also stated that Nintendo doesn't know if the Revolution might show in a Space World event, and Miyamoto states that they're in works of a Mario title for the Revolution and he states that the title could be mario 128 or Sunshine sequel. More news to come from E3 so stick tuned to DS Update.

Interview with Reggie

Gamespot has gotten an interview with Nintendo's very Reggie Fils-Aime, and in this interview, Reggie talks about the Nintendo video hoax, new genre on the Revolution, Revolution games, and Sony and Microsoft.

Here are the hightlights of the interview:

- When asked after the interview why no Mario 128 was shown at the conference as promised, he apologised saying he could only show what Miyamoto would let him show…

- He has confirmed Revolution versions of Mario, Metroid and Zelda are all in development.- Questioned about the Nintendo fan-video, he confirmed it was a fake, but would like the fan to give Nintendo’s PR department a call!

- Reggie says Nintendo will show the Revolution’s controller when Sony and Microsoft have their specs locked down so they cannot steal the idea!

- The next Revolution announcement “has its timetable”, and at the right time, Nintendo will get the word out. “Keep hanging with us,” says Reggie.

- The Revolution will apparently bring “new genres”, and new mixes of genres.- Reggie says there is a need for the Revolution “to combine the original NES, SNES, N64, and Gamecube controllers into one interface”.

- Additionally, Reggie has said Nintendo want to get more small developers on board for the Revolution.

More announcement on the Revolution soon?

Surely could be as Reggie from Nintendo stated this morning that Nintendo is planning another announcement about the Revolution. No details were mentioned, but could this announcement be about the Revolution's games and controller or will be another puzzle game that Nintendo is cooking up. Look for DS Update for more news.

[Update]Rumor:More Information on the Revolution tomorrow?

Ok everyone I found this very, very interesting news for Nintendo Now! Remember last month in April, when I posted the news "Revolution Speculations?" It was were this mysterious guy named "Aries" posting everything he knew about the Nintendo Revolution and its games. He stated that Super Smash Bros will be on the Nintendo Revolution, and it will go online? Well he was right about that one as Iwata-san confirmed SSB will be on the Revolution and will go online. Also Aries had said that Square-Enix was very interested in what the Nintendo Revolution and its online networking has to offer, and again Aries was once again right as Square-Enix's President Wada-san was very excited about the Nintendo Revolution and online. Aries also reported that the Nintendo Revolution will have backward capabilities from every Nintendo system games that was made, and he was right with that one as well as Nintendo once again confirm at the press release. Nintendo Now also looked into the "mock-up" video of the Revolution before E3 started. Video gamer J posted this video on DS Update, and most of us (including myself) dismissed this as a mock-up, but if you watched the video the production value was simple magnificent for a "Nintendo fan." After the release of the video, Nintendo of America's vice president of corporate affairs, Perrin Kaplan told news that the Nintendo Revolution will be very sleek and in that video, "the most sleek" appeared, and finally at the press conference, Reggie repeated "Right Brain" over and over again, but in the the video, it also said "The Brain". Aries also warned everyone that the press conference would not be a big hit, and that almost everything will be revealed May 19th, 2005 at E3.

Could have this been a concidence that this guy named "Aries" get all of his speculation correctly or does Nintendo and Aries are telling us that the Nintendo Revolution might come out tomorrow? But the problem with all of this IT'S JUST A RUMOR! There might be no information about the Nintendo Revolution tomorrow, but we have to wait and see for tomorrow if it's true or false. I would like to give Nintendo Now some credit for investigating on this rumor, and there's more speculations about the Nintendo Revolution at Nintendo Now. Click here!

Update: Nintendo Now reports that during the Nintendo pres conference, Nintendo was showing their Nintendogs to the masses, but it seems that Nintendo Now caught the hint that Nintendo showed us. During the Nintendog demonstration, the date says 5/19/2005, but the press conference was shown on 5/17/2005 telling us that something is going to happen tomorrow at Nintendo's Booth at E3. Remember these are just Speculation

New Castlevania news

At Konami's E3 press event today, Koji Igarashi debuted a new touchscreen function that's now implemented in Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow. Along with the ability to chisel away at ice blocks and create new blocks, as well as perform symbols to banish enemies, Igarashi's programmers have implemented a small function that, as Iga explains it, he's is warming up to. Before explaining this feature, he showed video of the function. In this confusing footage, attendees saw an unseen gamer writing KONAMI, drawing a face, and sketching other items on a special item screen. After the deafening silence, Iga explained: players will be able to customize their game profile with a drawing. Iga feels that, even though this idea is a minor one, he feels that this implementation makes the game feel more personal to the player. Other than this function, no new details or gameplay elements were revealed about Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow...other than its new subtitle and an anime-style animated introduction that Igarashi showed off in video form.
We'll have more on Castlevania DS as E3 continues all this week. The pic and video just added are impressive !

Think Big, Get Small

More news from the Nintendo E3 confrence is the new Gameboy Micro. Little is known about the system other than its tiny weight weigh in at a light 2.8 ounces. The whole system is only 2 inches high, 7 inches wide, and 0.7 inches deep, making the entire system smaller than a cell phone. The new system is not known whether it will play Mp3s or movies or such. At the moment it is only known to play GBA games while Nintendo says it is not a successor to the DS or GBA.

Pre E3: New games to expect at E3!

Juexpo, a french website has brought forth an amazing lineup of news. Most of it is prepared for what to expect at the Electronic Entertainment Expo but amazingly, they have provided the news on an almost exclusive level, as no other place has even mentioned some of these titles. Nonetheless, here's what I have caught:
  • Tetris for the Nintendo DS.

  • Mario and Luigi DS in development. Touch screen will be heavily integrated for both characters.

  • Metroid Dread. Stepping aside from Metroid Prime: Hunters, Metroid Dread will go back to the classic side scrolling action. Set to launch around the same time Metroid Prime: Hunters will. A smooth move for Nintendo, as both Metroid Fusion and Metroid: Zero Mission are great games and have sold incredibly well.

  • Touch! Golf! A touchscreen driven Golf game. Juexpo makes note that it will not feature Nintendo character, but no other details were revealed.

  • Snowboard Kids DS official screenshots. Revealed here.

We can certainly expect all of these games at E3, where more info will emerge (some may even be in playable form, following nicely if you bring your Nintendo DS and download them). When E3 does take it's hit, we'll keep you updated!

Nintendo Revolution Video Leaked?

I honestly doubt this is real, but it is very professionally done and must have taken quite some time to create. We know that the Revolution will use DVDs (which is shown in this video) but the actual system size that was confirmed by Nintendo earlier today does not match with the system in this video. In addition to that, I don't see Nintendo's mainstream approach being solved in another virtual reality-like concept. We will, however, find out in the next couple days. Want to see the movie now? Pre E3: Bring your DS to E3

If you are a fortunate person going to E3, make a note that you can bring your DS (if you own one) and download a series of demos and 'extras'. Who knows whats in store, but Nintendo is very wise in doing this. It definately has the potential to free up lines and put a lot of order into the Nintendo booth. In addition to that, someone may be able to capture the games and upload them to the people who couldn't attend e3. I know that it's been done with Polarium so heres hope to the rest!

New First Party DS game and Survey

IGN hits the spot stating that Nintendo is developing a new first party game for the Nintendo DS. Completely original at that, it looks like they are keeping their word so far with branching new frachises.

"A new, original DS action game is set to debut in the upcoming issue of Famitsu. Developed by Nintendo, the tentatively titled Ouendan makes you into a member of a support squadron. Your goal is to help out people who are in a pinch, thereby bringing peace to the world.

Ouendan's gameplay is based around a simple concept that combines the background storytelling of Feel the Magic with rhythmic gameplay. You interact with the game by touching numbered markers, called Hit Markers, that appear on the screen and slowly begin to shrink. The timing of your touches is important, as you have to strike the Hit Markers in time with the movement of a Timer Cycle, displayed at the top on the screen. Connect successful strikes together, and you build up a combo which adds to your score."

IGN's coverage of Ouendan can be viewed here.

Also, IGN has informed that Nintendo of America is presenting a survey featuring online gaming. Some common franchises have come into the survey, with Pokemon and Super Smash Bros being mentioned (among Mario Kart, Animal Crossing, etc). Whether they are DS or Revolution bound, we do not know. However, we do know that they are being considered.

The Survey can be taken here.

New Speculation? New Media?

E3 is coming in less than 9 days and while the days drop, a couple of things have come to my attention.

First off, Spong is confirming that a new GameBoy will be shown at this years E3. Months ago they they reported that a showing was strong, but nothing was certain. Now, in the dawn of the electronics expo, they strongly suggest that it will not be a portable GameCube, but instead a redone GBA SP or something entirely different (they speculated that it will have built in Play-Yan capabilities). Debunk Spong if you must, I find them credible enough.

Second off, 4 Color Rebellion has posted an interesting screenshot of possible Revolution media. It could have easily been made by anyone, but with E3 approaching, speculation is good.

Comment away.

GameCube Handheld

We've all heard the rumors of the GameBoy Evolution (or whatever the hipsters are calling it these days). Basically, the portable GameCube. So if you didn't know, a couple of months ago, a few of websites were claiming that this new handheld would be shown at E3 (this year). While this concept art is very nice it is a shame its fake.

Warming up for E3...

News has been slow for the Nintendo DS, I must admit. I did manage to find some neat DS development work. David Rorex has compiled more than 10 DS homebrew games/applications. While many of them are not complete yet or do not run on the DS correctly, there are a handful of ones that work on both the actual DS and emulators for it. Below I've posted my favorite, a TI Calculator application.

New Revolution Speculations

E3 is getting closer and closer, and now we get new Revolution specultions from an ex-Nintendo staff. The speculations are that the Revolution will getting six Third-Party support from Square-Enix, Namco, EA, Sega, Activision, and Zoonami. EA will be making a Madden game for the Revolution will have voice commands to call audibles and plays, the game will feature wireless capabilities, and the game will not a port. Sega is developing three games for the Nintendo Revolution, and the games will be at E3; There will be one game Sega will be "surprising" at E3, and a "Typical, quirky Sega game." No information was given for the last game. Zoonami will be making a Sam Fisher type game for the Revolution, Namco is working on a Revolution game, but no details were given, and Activision will be bringing porting a game to the Revolution.

The Revolution will have some great First-Party games as well. Nintendo will be making an original Mario game for the Revolution, and the game is not Mario 128. The game will utilise "pressure sensitive" controls and will have voice and gyroscope controls as well. Super Smash Bros. will be in the works as the game will have online capabilities, a deeper combat systems, new moves, destructable environments, and customization of characters, and the game will have new modes in the game. (example: SlowMo, Giant, invisible, ect.) Retro Studios will be making a Revolution game, and no, it is not Metroid Prime. The game will the Revolution's "Halo Killer" as you can choose whatever storyline you want, and if you get a fever in the game, the controller will become warm, hot, too very hot.

Wave Race is also in development, and Hideo Kojima is working with Nintendo on a "mature" game for the Revolution. The storyline tells us that the human race is almost wiped by higher beings and a cult of humans is wrecking havac in a cybernetic country, and you play as a cybernetic human who have been made by the higher beings. Camelot is working on a Final Fantasy style of a RPG, and Square-Enix is making a RPG for the Revolution also.

Even though this seems to be a dream come true, These are just speculations; nothing more and nothing less. We have to wait for E3 for the real truth to all of this

*THIS IS PURELY SPECULATION

Nintendo aims to broaden DS availability

Following the tremendous success of Nintendogs in Japan, word has spread that Nintendo is aiming to supply the Nintendo DS in more areas. What does this mean?
