Wi-Fi gaming for the Nintendo DS won't be free at Mcdonalds? *Update*

on Mcdonald's official website, they say that they will charge for Wi-Fi access. They wrote, Currently, the recommended pricing for a one-time connection is $2.95 for 2 hours of surfing."

If you look at Nintendo's philosophy on Wi-Fi gaming and access, you will see that Nintendo is for free access for Wi-Fi gaming. Nintendo might make sure that this charge won't effect the DS online plan they made with Mcdonalds, but right now we're still in the dark.

[Update]
If you are still worrying about Mcdonald charging fee for Wi-Fi, then stop worrying because a Nintendo representative has announced that you can DS Wi-Fi at Mcdonalds for free.

This has finally solved the question "Will others be able to mooch off of the DS users wifi?". PSP's will have to pay. WOOHOO!

No, Nintendo paid McDonalds to make it free. That is a different Wi-Fi, notice that it said "surf" the internet. That can be done with a laptop, and similar things. DS is just connecting to the internet, so it's free.

What was the point of saying that? I made my first comment out to say that others would have to pay, but I only pointed out psp users. Connecting to the internet or surfing it at one point is still using it, so that price would have applied to everyone, but since Nintendo has struck up this deal, DS users will be the only ones allowed to access any use of McDonalds wifi for free.
