Nintendo's net falls 21%, hurt by console sales
(Wall Street US)Nintendo Co has posted net profit of YEN36.63bn ($308.3m) for the first half, down 21% from YEN46.45bn in the previous year. The Japanese video game company blamed the sharp drop in earnings to higher expenses and weaker sales of game software and videogame consoles. Sales of the GameCube console in North America dipped 36% to 630,000 units, partly due to hesitation by consumers to buy new units ahead of the upcoming release of next-generation consoles.That is not good news for Nintendo Fans. Discuss!

Well, that kinda sucks... Can't say I wasn't expecting it, Nintendo kinda forgot about the Cube, so until Zelda, it'll just get worse.

Boy, there's some bright reasoning. How about some basic information? For one thing, "profits are down" means just that: they're still turning a profit of over THREE HUNDRED MILLION DOLLARS for the first half of the fiscal year. That is substantial.
Additionally, there's also the fact that as long as they're selling ANYTHING, they're making income. Nintendo doesn't sell anything at a loss because, in their business model, that is stupid.
Furthermore, there's the simple matter of upcoming hardware releases by everyone -- I'm sure Sony's videogame department isn't doing so hot right now either because everyone's waiting until next year. It makes even more sense for Nintendo's fans, since their next hardware is 100% backward-compatible.

X-box devision is so in the red it is hundreds of millions in losses.
And Sony, not doing so hot either.
Guess what? the only profitable company when it comes to video games, systems and handhelds is Nintendo you fool!!!!!
