thats bad news but its also old news, i read about a statement from iwata stating they had no plans on adding NES games to the DS weeks ago.
Probably because the DS isn't compatible with the e-Reader.

It has nothing to do with the E-Reader. It's problably because the Revolution will have a strong download-to-Nintendo DS feature in a couple of years. We'll get our NES, SNES and N64 fix then. Right now, Nintendo is going to drought any ports or any classic remakes.
As for Animal Crossing DS, IGN makes it seem like there will be plenty of room. While NES games don't take up much room, Animal Crossing DS is going to be VERY packed. This is an online game we are talking about.
i still think there will be room for the games, but i like IGN's idea of doing it with classic gameboy games, thats cool and they would take up even less room than the NES games.
You never needed the E-reader for the Gamecube version, you could get the games anyway.
Still, they should include something as extras.
SNES superscope games, for instance. (what else will they do with them?!!?)
"Animal Crossing DS is going to be VERY packed. This is an online game we are talking about. "
Online games dont really take up much more space.
Its not really an issue. (media is, cutscenes, sound ect)
the e-reader was for other games that you couldnt collect thomas.
Since its not a straight port of Animal Crossing I am not that upset and I really dig IGN's idea to have Gameboy games instead. BUT in reality I believe they aren't doing it simply because they don't want to cut in on their lucrative NES Classics gameboy cart sale business.
Then again.. there's always flashcarts :P
