Super Pac Man Pinball

the latest issue of Nintendo Power magazine there was an article stating that Namco would be releasing Super Pac Man Pinball for the Nintendo DS, a graphically advanced version of Pac Man Pinball for the GBA, the top and bottom screen will be used to show a large game table. The magazine included 2 screenshots of the game in action.

Believe me, it IS in there. I got my issue a few days ago (yeah, I get mine quite late), and I saw it clearly. I would do a scan, but I don't know how to, nor do I know how to put pics online. It is in there.

As for the game, I have one comment: Let's hope this isn't going to be any "pinball-adventure" crap like Mario Pinball Land. I don't think the DS needs so many pinball games.

Wow.

Why do they think we WANT so much of the Pac Man from the 1980's?

Why not put some of the Pac-man games together in one super pac DS game, then the old people here will be happy.

Pac Man is okay, PSP QC -- but in another PINBALL game? Sorry, I know it's been done before, but I just don't understand the fascination with pinball games on handheld systems. I even tried a copy of Pokemon Pinball a couple years ago on GBA and didn't find it even remotely interesting.

IMHO -- Sony is the one aiming for the older age demographic on PSP...they should be the ones coming out with these individual Pac-Man games, or the Pac-Man anthology that PSP QC suggests, that appeal to us "old schoolers." (Actually, Namco Museum fits that bill quite nicely, and I pop that in every so often for a quick 15-20 minute old school fix...)

Back on topic -- I'm still reeling from the news that Nintendo is planning to release a Metroid Pinball DS game. Samus Aran's strengths lie in kicking Metroid ass (especially in her 3-D, first-person adventures), not rolling about a pinball deck in morph-ball mode doing bling-bling on table bumpers. That's just....heresy. I may be way off base, but I think it will cheapen the whole Metroid "mystique," and the franchise as a whole.

Of course, it may be worth it if Samus doffs her power suit at the end of Metroid Pinball, as she does in most of her previous adventures. ;)

Right on. But, this isn't about Samus Aran -- it's about Pac Man. As it happens, I see this game as an opportunity to revitalize the Pac Man series. :D
