More Revolution Speculation
*Remember this Speculation* This blog site is calling themselves as a small Nintendo Revolution that are working on the Super Smash Bros. for the Revolution with HAL, and they called the title Super Smash Bros: Fire. Nintendo has not released the official name for Super Smash Bros. title yet.They also said that Nintendo’s Next-Gen console WILL be the most powerful console of all time, Downloadable 1st party games are FREE, The controllers will have an optional gyroscopic feature to them, The console will ship in the price range of $150-200 USD, There will be 50 games available at the launch of the Revolution, Super Smash Bros: Fire will ship with the Revolution as a BONUS, Revolution will ship later than Sony PS3, and the Revolution will ship sometime during November 2006.
Some of these speculation seems to be to true, because how can the Revolution be more powerful than Sony PS3? But some of Aries' speculations became true, so we will keep an eye on them if they are lying or not.

Well, according to IGN, the X360 is more powerful than the PS3, and also easier to code for. This seemed strange to me since the PS3 will come out much later, but they crunched the numbers and produced those results.
I don't believe much of that speculation beyond the gyroscopic controllers and a later release date. The PS3 is looking to retail for around $500, so expect Nintendo to dive well below that mark but probably more in the $250-300 range. Anyway, here's hoping for Space World...
what matter are the games, i think that the graphic engine and the software is what makes the game.
not only the capacity of the console.
it's been a long time since i came back again to the nintendo side. i'd been drawn to sony because of the dancing games, and franquely the ddr mario is a bad idea.... hope the revolution will be revolution for teens and adults not just for kids
Can we distinguish the difference between a "kiddie" game or an "adult" game? If an adult game is one with violence only and no story, then I don't play those and I'm an ADULT. Video games are about FANTASY not reality. Is Mario or Viewtiful Joe "kiddie". If so then I play only "kiddie" games and they are the best. Whatever happened to the FUN factor. How many people do we hear saying "I had fun playing XBOX"? or "That army game was fun"? None, cuz those games aren't fun but they're challenging. Great games have both elements but these days there are far too few FUN games. Isn't that why we spend so much time in front of the T.V. with a controller anyway?

there's fun xbox games too...but I've been looking to get a gamecube since the system only cost as much as a game nowadays, if you get a used one. I'll probably just wait and see if the revolution is going to be good and I'll probably get it since it IS backwards compatible with gamecube games. Right now my FUN games are on my GBA and my NDS...EX: Castlevania Aria of Sorrow, Mario and Luigi - Superstar Saga, Metroid Fusion, Mario 64 DS, Yoshi's Touch and Go, and soon will be Mario Kart for DS also...I've always had at least one nintendo system in my house, right now i have a NES, GBA SP, and NDS...The controller port on my SNES broke when kinda steped on the chord right next to the system and broke the controller port...lol...Now I don't have to buy another SNES if the Revolution downloadable SNES games aren't an arm and a leg costwise...
Good game list. Funny how with all this technology, some of the funnest games this generation have come from the GBA. I must have spent 300 hours on F.F. Tactics Advanced alone. I have always played Nintendo consoles (although I have a PS2 to fill the holes in the gamecube lineup) and it's a little disappointing to see where games are headed. Story and gameplay seems to be sacrificed for frame rate and dolby digital sound. I'm a huge hi tech guy but when it comes to game consoles, who care about all the specs? I remember when the discussion was whether a system was 8 bit or 16 bit. I'm confident that the "Revolution" will be something I will thoroughly enjoy as will my son. He loves the older games and sounds like now he'll get to experience them with the download idea. Go Nintendo.
Ok.. 1st of all, i couldn't find a IGN article that saying X360 is more powerful than a PS3. we all know that Sony is a big liar (remember PS2?), but I highly doubt that it'll be slower than X360. That'll be just too stupid. They'll lose a big trust can business doesn't last long that way.
2nd, look at DS. Nintendo is all up for innovation, not highly benched numbers. it's very unique and fun, and i think that Nintendo wants to go that way.
$200 console that's faster than X360 and PS3? Nintendo will lost at least $100 per console, and if they sell 10 mil. console, guess how much they are losing.. They just made 80 billion dollar last fiscal year, and they'll throw away all of that just like a toilet paper? my guess would be no.
Nintendo will probably come up with something that we could've thought of, but never thought companies would actually do it. like 'analog stick', 'rumble pak', 'wireless controllers'. Gyro? maybe. but anybody can guess that.
BOTTOM LINE, they are lying. Revolution is a very tiny device that can fit into girl's purse. it just can't have tiny CPUs bcuz smaller the CPU is, more heat it creats due the size and electrical resistance. how they're going to cool those GPUs and CPUs? it's impossible.
the only way that Nintendo can pull off the horsepower that can kick Sony and MS's ass and taking names, is that to develope a new way to render 3D objects. ATi (or was it? can't remember well..) has history of doing that, by deleting the unseen objects and use more polygons to the object that's on the screen. but it didn't get much attention..
and even if ATi has that kind of technology, why didn't they put that on the PC market? they would've made lots of money..
don't believe these fakers. just wait 'til big N makes official comments.
err...it can be more powerfull...theres hundreds of PC technologys that make it possible.
A single PPU can do the *effective* physics that a Cell Chip can do, at far far less effort. (price, cycles, power used, heat given off).
Whether its likely or not, I dont know.
The Gamecube has effective proformance the same (very slightly lower) then the Xbox.
Dispite microsofts claims the *end result* wasnt much difference.
Dispite Nintendo makeing a profit on hardware, and Microsoft loseing it.
Cost dosnt always equal "power".
Nintendo has the advantage of being a big developer...there coders and hardware designers are uniqualy tied together.
The big thats certainly bullshit is:
"50 games at launch".
No console in history has had that many.
3-6 is average. Even the PS2 only had about 3 at the very start.
Unless they are counting old NES games....

50 games at launch would be just stupid (as well as very unlikely). By the time you got done playing them (assuming they're of any quality)it would be the next generation already. Good games at least need to be spread out over several weeks. Wasn't it PRINCE OF PERSIA that was released the same day as BEYOND GOOD AND EVIL? Bad move for UBISOFT because they couldn't give BG&E away altough it was a quality title.
Let's just pretend that all of these rumors are true. There wouldn't be any reason to buy another system. Maybe Square won't have to remake FFVII, we could just dowload it to the Revolution (assuming Sony has no legal claim over it anymore)Ahh! The possibilities.
These rumors are a bit outrageous, but then again, there rumors. We wouldn't have anything to talk about if the rumors were negative. Low technology unit, 2 games at launch, $500 price point, no online plans, no 3rd party support etc... Get the point?

Here is an excerpt from their concluding paragraph: "When you break down the numbers, Xbox 360 has provably more performance than PS3. Keep in mind that Sony has a track record of over promising and under delivering on technical performance... Seems very strange doesn't it? It's almost unbelievable to me, but who knows.. check it out for yourselves. Personally, I'll be holding out for the Revolution no matter what..

Not a good idea when a game is more targeted to the Nintendo audience. ("Best Action Adventure Since The Wind Waker" as the box says).

Whys it unbelievable?
3x3ghz chips are pretty darn powerfull.
The cell chip, hyped though it is, is completely unknowen as to its "end result" proformance.
Maybe the PS3 is better, maybe not.
But I wouldnt take it on faith that Sonys claims about it are correct.
bet all the power get's sucked up with those oversized batman emblems they call controllers. guess they figured if the ps3 controllers gonna be wireless, might as well fly like a boomerang too. maybe 50 lauch games include some dowloadable ones. dsrulespsphasalongwaytogo
Is 1.23 million units sold of Resident Evil 4 so far gonna be enough to bring part 5 to Gamecube or Revolution? Not a bad number so far considering the smaller Gamecube fanbase.
OK, X360 CAN BE faster than PS3. CAN BE. MAYBE. THEY PROBABLY WISH. the article was about the MS's comparitive analysis, not the article from a guy who actually was able to test both PS3 and X360.
you not gonna believe me, but i went to 2005 E3 as a media (press), so i was able to see what X360 can do in person.
..damn it sucked.
i mean, i'm no MS hater, but all the unstable framerates and graphic that doesn't impress me at all.. if you'd saw Doom 3 on my PC (or any other fast PC), maybe you'd understand why i made these comments..
i enjoy Xbox even now (splinter cell rocks) as it is, but i'm not gonna spend extra $300+ for "same as or a bit better than my computer graphics". I'll take a chance with PS3.
and i love Revolution and the idea, and always been a huge fan of Nintendo. i'll always be no matter what kinda hardwares they are planning to make (ok.. except virtual boys, etc). i'm sure it'll be as innovative as (or more than) DS. i love my DS.
and about the rumor that revolution can be faster than any other console with tiny size, YOU WISH. you guys really don't know about how computer hardware works, do you?
OF COURSE you can make a system that's faster than all of next-gen console! OF COURSE Nintendo has enough money to make it with current technology. but do you think that Nintendo will sell it for $200??? LOL.
you know why Nintendo is innovative yet still the most stubborn company of all? they are perfectionist, but also has great business mind. they made 80+ billion dollars just with Zelda, Pokemon, and bunch of Mario series that people say 'kiddie games'. they would've drop Mario series if it didn't made any profits. yes, Nintendo is that stubborn.

well, there's one possibility. as i said yesterday, if Nintendo found a way to render realistic 3D with small CPU/GPU power, than yes, it's possible with $200. and i'm sure that it's not Nintendo's will to make the most powerful machine with tiny size. they are upto something new and fresh. remember when 1st analog stick came? remember when you felt the 1st Rumble Pak? yeah, it's gonna be like that..

as a Nintendo fan, it'll be AWESOME to see, but they're not gonna make a console that loses money on each sell. they're not MS. and i think it's a good thing.
sorry but i didn't mean to say "kiddie games", cuz i love plying mario all the time, what i meant is that they are using konami's dance dance revolution franchise name to sell a game that it will be totally different and without songs that made that franchise popular. an example is the disney tunes, with disney characters it didn't sell as much as the regular one does. But not because of the songs, but because of the theme, cuz the songs were cool.

people are stupid to be saying " i had fun playing my ______ (insert console here)" who the hell says that. if you had fun it's because of the game not the console. I'd say I had fun playing mario or i had fun playing psychonauts or i had fun playing halo2. i mean damn if you had fun playing your gamecube what are you playing? the boot up animation?
as far as d/l'ing past nintendo games is concerned. it's hardly anything new to most people because backup roms on PC as well as modded Xbox's have been doing that for years now, though not people had to technically own the game to even have the backup roms legally heh.
Excuse me but no need to correct my former statement. The type of games that the Xbox markets as it's Top games are as follows...
Splinter Cell, Riddick, Ghost Recon, Ninja Gaiden, Full Spectrum Warrior, etc.... These games look great and sell well but how much fun are they? Not much. They are challenging, but I've played them all and they have a certain SERIOUS feeling to them. Nothing wrong with that but XBOX gears it's games around that type of style. So to an extent, you can label a console's theme. Same way people have labled Nintendo "kiddie" so easily wouldn't you say? If what you said was true then how can Nintendo be "Kiddie"? Only certain games can be "Kiddie" right? But what if you have a lot of them on your system. Hmmmm! Makes ya think doesn't it?
Fun games (my opinion) this generation. Kingdom Hearts (which is probabaly ps2s best game but doesn't get recognition it should)Windwaker, Fire Emblem GBA, Ape Escape 2, GTA San Andreas (fun),Donkey Konga, Mario Sunshine, Tales of Symphonia, Shining Force, Disgea, F.F. Tactics Advanced, Tony Hawk Underground, etc.... All fun games and there's many more. Hey remember that Socom Commercial where the guy threw his controller? That's cuz that's what those type of games make you do. They are challenging, but they also piss you off and that's just not fun. Games need story, characters, rewarding elements for passing certain stages etc... Not just (oh I reached Sniper Status on Rainbow six) So what? Who cares and how is that FUN. I'll never stop saying it. FUN FUN FUN.
Nintendo never said that the dowloading of classic games was the revolutionary feature of it's next console. I wish people would stop saying "it's been done before". Even if it was, the classic 8-16 bit games have not been released and it's a great idea. I'll play those old side scrolling 2d games over the new stuff any old day. Many people are excited about this dowload stuff except for the techies.
Say what you will people but Nintendo is the only one of the 3 companies to make a great profit this generation. Sony made a small profit for all the products they sell. Microsoft made none. They made less than none. So just step off Nintendo haters cuz without the big N, there is no video games. If Nintendo pulled out. Video games would die within 5 years. Like I'm gonna let Bill Gates lead me into the future of gaming. All he's concerned about is the future of his monopoly. Sony has got their hand in so much sh-- they seem to lack a focus on what's going on and they also seem to be very arrogant( a quality that hurts most companies eventually, ask Nintendo) It's because of Nintendo's arrogance in the late 90s and Sony's timing that we even have to play Playstation. If they had gone with discs, Square would've stayed and the Playstation would have suffered the same fate as the Jaguar. If Nintendo can fall, so can Sony. In my opinion, Sony had no business trying to make a handheld. Call me crazy but it could actually lead to their undoing. There was a video game crash in the 80s cuz everyone wanted in. We are headed for another one if some new ideas don't come along soon. Unless you guys all love playing stupid EA games, Ghost recons and mindless efforts like Mercenaries. Blow up stuff, blow up more stuff. C'mon guys, are we really that mindless to what a quality game should be? Let's not fuel the fire by supporting these type of games and the fly by night developers who create them (how many developers have file for bankruptcy this generation?). Seriously, let go the hype and demand quality games.
