Downloadable DS Demos Obtained!

Just as I had predicted, the downloadable demos that were at E3 have been captured and saved onto a computer. Now it is possible to download these yourself and play them as you wish, if you have a PassMe device or an appropriate Wireless card. I'm definately going to read into this, if I figure something out, I'll shout back!

Make sure you get the right wifi card as not all are compatible with program available that sends the game to your ds. Check out this website for the program and drivers...

And this one for the compatability listing of wifi cards...

Can I trouble somebody to explain to me what exactly I need to do for the downloads. I'm not up on wifi cards but I have a DS and would love to see what you guys are talking about? Any help would be much appreciated.

You either need a Gameboy Advance Flash Card and Passme (from dspassme.com), or you need a compatible wifi card and the program known as wifime. Why don't you try looking at the links I posted earlier.

One thing that is striking me here is that WIFIME is kind of overkill for this-- WIFIME was originally created so that DS owners wouldn't need to buy a PASSME aka they would be able to put a GBA flash cart in their ds, fire up wifime and the DS would run apps that were loaded on the cart.

Now this is different, to run these apps we do not need to be able to enable DS access to the GBA flash cart-- so the question is, with that out of the equation will we see wifime alternative apps that take advantage of other wifi chipsets?

HMM.

Well, when we interviewed the creator thought wifime, he seemed like it was pointless because you needed a flash cart, because all homebrew games are unsigned.

It turns out though, that after the distribution of the E3 games, the wifime does just fine by itself as Nintendo has all of those games RSA secured. I wouldn't be suprised if this turned out mainstream someday.

wifime would work with any wifi card if someone made the drivers for them...

Yeah, which I imagine should not be too difficult, but we'll have to wait it out.

Once you get the right car dit is very easy, I suggest the Linksys WMP54G v4

Get a wireless card that's on the list, install the custom driver. Use the WMB program and then just use "DS Download Play" on your DS. Simple no?
