PSP Price and Date

The PSP now has a North American price and launch date. For $249.99 on March 24th you'll get the equivalent of the Japanese PSP Value Pack, which includes the PSP, a battery pack, an AC adaptor, a 32MB Memory Stick Duo, headphones fitted with a remote control, a soft carrying case, a cleaning cloth and a sample UMD with non-playable game demos. Also the first million buyers will get a copy of Spiderman 2 on UMD. The price also translates into $310 CND (before taxes). The price is higher, but it also launches with 24 games. Even with UMD movies, I don't think that movies on the PSP will become large sellers. How will Nintendo respond to the news, will we see a DS price drop? Time will tell...

I think the price is too much. $175 would have been better. I don't think DS prices will drop with the $100 price difference. With the PSP limited battery life and long load times. Would be better if they had a UMD burner to burn Multimedia discs.

The price is very respectable considering the Unit by itself is $180. And tog et a meory card for the PSP, the pricing would be around $50 dollars. Not to mention the case would be another $30, taking you $10 dollars over their price, and that doesn't include everything in the bundle....
