Nintendo DS Makes New Friends!!!!!

"TGS no-show doesn't hurt Nintendo's share price as Sony says quiet on key points"

It seems that Nintnedo's no show at TGS (Tokyo Game Show) would spell a disaster for the "Big N", but it seems to have turned out differently. TGS allowed Sony to display most of their arsenal for their upcoming handheld PSP (Playstation Portable) to a public audience without the presence of its main rival (Nintendo if you didn't know....LOL).

Nintendo's strategic plans days before TGS (announced a well-recieved price point of $149.99 for the Nintendo DS and Raised their shipment projections), and Sony's hesitance to talk abotu the price and the battery life of their handheld, has sparked many to believe that NIntendo doesn't have nothing to really worry about.

The showing by Sony at TGS has many analysts thinking (about Sony possibly providing a strong third-party line-up for the Japanese lauch this christmas for the PSP), including Kei Oka (UFJ Tsubasa analyst), who openly spoked in an interview with Bloomberg Japan that...

"People who were disapppointed after seeing Sony's PSP and its games may now be anticipating the Nintendo Ds..."

One thing is for sure though, Nintnedo stock rose 2.1% on Monday, following the end of the Tokyo Game Show, and continued to rise on Tuesday. The current price is 13,000 Yen, which is only a few points shy of its 12-month high 0f 13,160 Yen (which was reached in late June)....
